1. Delivery availability and charges
Delivery availability depends on the product, quantity, delivery address, vehicle required and safe access to the unloading point. Enter the correct postcode when ordering or requesting a quotation.
Our regular own-fleet delivery area covers Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. Local delivery within this area is free. A delivery charge may apply to destinations outside this area or to small items sent by courier. Any charge will be shown or confirmed before the order is accepted. If you ask to change the delivery address afterwards, the charge and delivery date may change. We will obtain your agreement before applying an additional charge.
An order request submitted through our website is not an accepted order. We will contact you to confirm stock, pricing, delivery arrangements and the final amount before a contract is formed.
2. Delivery days and times
Deliveries normally take place Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 16:00, excluding bank holidays. We may offer other arrangements where available.
Next-working-day local delivery may be available, subject to stock, order timing, vehicle capacity, routing and safe access. Please contact the team to confirm availability before relying on a delivery date.
For destinations outside our own-fleet area, we use parcel couriers and pallet carriers. Delivery is usually within two working days, but this depends on when the order is placed, the product and carrier availability.
Delivery dates and times are estimates unless we expressly confirm that a particular date or time is guaranteed. Traffic, weather, vehicle breakdowns, supplier delays and other circumstances can affect schedules. We will contact you if we become aware of a material delay.
Please do not remove an existing roof, book installers or start work until the goods have arrived and you have checked them.
3. Kerbside delivery
Unless we expressly agree otherwise, delivery is to the kerbside at the address shown on the order. This means the nearest safe, lawful and reasonably accessible unloading position for our vehicle.
Delivery does not include carrying goods along paths, through buildings, into houses, to rear gardens, onto roofs or to another part of a site. You are responsible for safely moving and storing the goods after unloading.
Our driver has final discretion over where and whether unloading can be completed safely. A requested location may be refused if it could endanger people, property, the goods or the vehicle.
4. Vehicle access and unloading requirements
Roofing and building materials are often delivered by large rigid vehicles, vans or vehicles fitted with unloading equipment.
HIAB delivery is available from both Southport and Maghull at no additional charge where the product, vehicle, access and unloading position are suitable. Our team will confirm whether HIAB delivery can be safely provided.
Before ordering, tell us about anything that may restrict access, including:
- narrow roads, gateways or entrances;
- low bridges, trees, cables or building overhangs;
- weight, height, width, time or vehicle restrictions;
- steep roads, gradients or tight turning areas;
- soft, uneven, gravelled or unstable ground;
- parked vehicles, controlled parking or loading restrictions; and
- any permit required for parking, unloading or leaving materials at the kerbside.
The vehicle must be able to approach and leave safely on a suitable road. The unloading point must normally be hard, level, stable and clear of people and obstructions. We cannot guarantee unloading onto driveways, private land, gravel, grass, slopes or other unsuitable surfaces.
If you ask our vehicle to leave the public highway, you must identify a safe and suitable route. We are not responsible for damage resulting from unsuitable access or ground conditions that were not caused by our negligence.
5. Preparing for delivery
Please ensure that:
- the delivery address and contact telephone number are correct;
- an authorised adult is available throughout the expected delivery period;
- the unloading area is clear, safe and accessible;
- children, animals, workers and members of the public remain clear of the vehicle and unloading operation; and
- you have suitable equipment and help to move materials after kerbside unloading.
If site circumstances change after ordering, contact us as soon as possible.
6. Unattended deliveries
We will leave goods without somebody present only where this has been expressly agreed in advance and we consider the location safe. You must give clear instructions and ensure we have permission to use the location.
We may take a photograph or obtain other evidence of delivery. Responsibility for the goods after an agreed unattended delivery is subject to applicable law and our Terms and Conditions. A consumer’s statutory rights, including the legal rules governing when risk passes, remain unaffected.
7. Failed or redirected deliveries
A delivery may fail if nobody is available, the address or access information is incorrect, access is unsafe or unsuitable, the unloading point is obstructed, a required permit is missing, or you ask the driver to redirect the delivery.
Where failure results from circumstances within your control, we may charge the reasonable direct cost of storage, return, redelivery or using a different vehicle. We will explain the proposed arrangements and charge. If the problem is our fault, you will not be charged for redelivery.
8. Delays and consumer rights
For consumers, we will deliver within the agreed period. If no period has been agreed, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 normally requires delivery without undue delay and within 30 days after the contract is entered into.
If we miss an agreed delivery date, contact us. Depending on the circumstances and the law, you may be entitled to agree a new deadline or end the contract and receive a refund, particularly where delivery by the agreed date was essential and we knew this before accepting the order.
9. Checking your delivery
Please inspect goods as soon as reasonably possible. Where safe, count the items and note visible damage or shortages on the delivery document before the driver leaves.
Report visible transit damage or shortages within 48 hours where reasonably possible, quoting your order number and providing photographs. This helps us investigate promptly but does not remove or shorten a consumer’s statutory rights. Hidden defects should be reported promptly after discovery.
10. Collection from our branches
Collection may be available from:
- Southport: Stormspell House, Russell Road, Southport, Merseyside PR9 7SB — Southport branch information
- Maghull: Unit 19 & Mersey House, Sefton Industrial Estate, Sefton Lane, Maghull, Merseyside L31 8BX — Maghull branch information
Please wait until we confirm that your order is ready before travelling. Bring your order details and any identification or authorisation requested in the collection confirmation. Opening hours and collection availability can vary, so check the relevant branch page or contact us before setting off.
11. Vehicles used for collection
You are responsible for bringing a vehicle that is suitable for the size, length and weight of the goods. You must secure the load safely and comply with road-traffic requirements.
Our team may help with loading where appropriate, but responsibility for checking the vehicle’s capacity, load distribution and final restraint remains with the driver. We may refuse to load a vehicle that we reasonably believe is unsuitable or unsafe.
12. Risk and ownership
For consumers, risk normally passes when the goods come into the physical possession of the consumer or a person nominated by them. For business customers, risk passes on delivery at the agreed place or when the goods are collected, as set out in our Terms and Conditions.
Ownership may pass at a different time from risk, particularly where business credit terms apply.
