Total Torch Vapour Dispersion Layer is a glass fibre-reinforced SBS-modified bituminous membrane. The upper surface is finished with a thermofusible film. The underside surface has specially formulated low melt bitumen stripes with quartz sand between to prevent adhesion during application. The underside is finished with a thermofusible film to prevent sticking in the roll.
Stripe technology:
When trapped pockets of vapour in the system begin to warm up they expand and can form blisters. The specially formulated striped resinous profiles are optimally spaced to cover 50% of the membrane surface. The areas between the striped profiles are coated with a quartz sand mixture to prevent adhesion during application creating resin-free channels. The resin-free channels allow any trapped vapour to dissipate along the channels under its own pressure thus preventing blistering.

Suitable for use as a partial bond underlay within a high performance bituminous built-up roofing system by eliminating blistering created from the build-up of water vapour pressure within the roof construction. It is suitable for use on both new and refurbishment projects.
Hydrocarbon solvent-based products, such as Naphtha, paraffin and creosote will have a harmful effect and should not be allowed to come into contact with these membranes.
Materials for reinforced bitumen membrane roofing should be stored upright on clean dry level surfaces, undercover and clear of the ground. The same protection should be given to materials temporarily kept outdoors or on the roof during construction. Storage temperatures should be between 0°C and 30°C. Refer to BS 8000-4 (Section 2.1.2.2) for further information.
Total Torch Vapour Dispersion Layer membranes are applied by torch-on application. The membrane is to be installed in accordance with current and relevant standards such as BS 8217, BS 6229 and BS 8000-4.
